Join me for a unique dining experience where mushrooms will feature as the star ingredient in four delicious plant-based dishes, including the desert. Expect the unexpected, maybe even a little magic!
Some of the mushrooms (and wild plants) have been foraged by me. With over two decades of mushroom-hunting experience, you can rest assured that this will be no night of Russian Roulette - you will be feasting on the delicious, not the deadly, variety! And if wild mushrooms aren’t in season, porcini foraged and sun dried on the slopes of Table Mountain in Cape Town will find their way into the dishes, alongside a variety of exotic mushrooms.
We’ll start off the evening with a glass or two of German bubbly (or home-brewed kombucha ‘champagne’ for the non-drinkers) and have some fun creating some edible edible art together. Throughout the dinner you will enjoy a few South African touches, including in the last course: an unusual but sexy pairing of creamy, dreamy umami-rich Porcini and Chocolate Ice Cream, served with a delicious traditional South African dessert of malva pudding - all vegan, of course!

WALNUT-MUSHROOM FAUX GRAS
Feel-good “foie gras“ served with buckwheat crisps, vanilla-gooseberry preserve and crispy sage or Feel-good “foie gras“ served with homemade seed and nut loaf, caramelised onions and thyme
TEXTURES OF MUSHROOM RISOTTO
Served with edible soil and truffle oil & shaved asparagus and zucchini salad

I love to make food that captivates the taste buds, as well as inspires us to be more aware of our food choices and to be adventurous in our approach to eating and cooking.
Often my whimsical creations are made using high-quality ingredients – in particular locally sourced, seasonal and foraged varieties – with a whole-food, plant-based and natural focus. Think vegan food with a playful twist, bursting with color, flavor and nutrition.
Using food as my creative medium, I hope to bring a little more magic into people's lives with my private dinners, pop-up events, cooking courses and workshops in Berlin and Cape Town!
